A police officer has been charged by summons with the offence of Possess Child Exploitation Material.

The Senior Constable from the southern region has been suspended on full pay while the matter is before the courts.

The charge relates to three images.

The officer will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 12 May 2017.
