Police are reminding people to safely lock away power tools at construction sites following recent burglaries of houses under construction in the Devonport area and surrounding suburbs.

“We would like to warn all building contractors that power tools are being targeted and we strongly advise that any items of value shouldn’t be left at unoccupied construction sites,” said Detective Sergeant Michelle Elmer of Devonport CIB.

“We also advise against leaving keys onsite as they could be used to gain access to the buildings.”
