Police investigating wounding incident at South Launceston
Police are investigating an incident in South Launceston last night where a woman received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
At 11.50pm police responded to reports of firearms discharged into a shed on Leslie Street.
A 36-year-old Launceston woman received a gunshot wound to her lower leg. She was transported to the Launceston General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A police investigation is ongoing to locate the offenders involved.
“Understandably every firearms incident is concerning for police and the community,” said Inspector Mel Groves.
“I’d like to reassure the community that our investigations so far indicate this incident was isolated, targeted, and between people known to each other.”
