Police investigating serious Brooker Highway crash
About 9:40am on Tuesday, 13 May police were called to a serious crash involving a truck and a van at the intersection of the Brooker Highway and Bowen Road, Moonah.
Initial investigations indicate both vehicles were travelling side by side in the north-bound lanes of the Brooker Highway when the driver of the white VW van appears to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer into the side of the white Volvo prime mover truck.
The van then appears to have veered in the other direction, before crashing into traffic lights at the intersection.
The man driving the van was taken to hospital in a serious condition. The man driving the truck was not injured.
The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for about four hours while the scene was examined and cleared.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing and police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Glenorchy Police on 131 444.
