On Tuesday afternoon, 5^th March several bush fires started in bushland off Muellers Road in Tyenna area, near Maydena.

An investigation by the Forestry Tasmania, Fire Scene Examiner indicates that the fires were deliberately lit.

Tasmania Police is investigating the cause and origin of the fires and appeals to anyone who has information or may have witnessed any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles in the vicinity of Muellers or Styx Road on the afternoon of Tuesday, 5 March, to contact them.
