Police are investigating a deliberately lit fire at Legana overnight.

Tasmania Fire Service was called to the vacant property in Fulton Street about 4am Thursday 5 December.

Crews from Legana and Launceston arrived to find the house fully involved.

The fire was contained and damage has been estimated at $180,000.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services responded.

A fire investigation was conducted and the fire was deemed to have been deliberately lit.
