Police investigating burglary and thefts, Shearwater and Port Sorell
Police from Latrobe and Western CIB are investigating the theft of mountain bikes and jewellery in two incidents overnight.
The incidents occured at a camp site in Port Sorell, and a residence in Shearwater.
As part of the investigation, two e-Mountain Bikes to the value of $12,000 were recovered from a home in Devonport today.
Detective Acting Inspector Alex Bonde said a man was arrested before later being unconditionally released, and investigations are ongoing.
“Police want to hear from anyone who may have knowledge of the thefts, and we are particularly interested in information about a blue Giant dual suspension mountain bike that remains outstanding,” he said.
“Anyone with information or CCTV footage of any suspicious activity in the Port Sorell or Shearwater areas overnight is asked to contact police.”
“We encourage everyone to remain vigilant in the security of their homes and belongings,” he said.
