Police investigating animal cruelty incident in Wynyard
Police are investigating an act of animal cruelty towards a wallaby in the Wynyard area.
A deceased wallaby was located this morning suspended from a tree in a recreational reserve near Saunders Street.
“This act of animal cruelty is deeply concerning,” said Sergeant Craig Harvey from Wynyard Police Station.
“It’s also concerning that the wallaby was left in a public place, in plain sight of innocent members of our community.”
“Police are asking anyone who knows anything about this incident to come forward.”
