Police investigating alleged firearms discharge in Lutana

Police are investigating an incident in Lutana last night – involving people known to each other – where a firearm was allegedly discharged. 

“Around 7.55pm police responded to reports of an incident near Derwent Park Road where a firearm was allegedly discharged from a residence towards a vehicle,” said Inspector Mark Burke from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch. 

“Police investigations are ongoing to locate the offender/s involved.” 

No injuries were sustained in the incident.

Inspector Burke said, “Investigations indicate this was a targeted incident between people known to each other.” 

“Every alleged firearms incident is a concern for the community and police, and I urge anyone with information in relation to this incident, or firearms in our community, to come forward.”
