Police investigate Kingston High School arson
Police are investigating a deliberately lit fire which caused significant damage to a classroom at Kingston High School last night.
A fire was reported in scrubland in the dog walking area behind Kingston High School about 9.45pm last night.
“While Tasmania Fire Service were attending they saw a second fire to a classroom block at the school,” Inspector David Wiss said.
“The fire had been lit using pallets lying against the outside wall of the Ourspace classroom. The fire then extended into the classroom, causing extensive damage valued between $100,000-$200,000.”
Police are following a particular line of inquiry, but are still keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident.
