Police investigate Herdsmans Cove arson
Bridgewater CIB is investigating a suspicious house fire in Gangell Place, Herdsmans Cove, north of Hobart.
The structure fire was reported about 2.20am today. The house was completely engulfed by fire when the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) arrived, resulting in damage to the property.
TFS conducted a scene examination and determined the fire was deliberately lit and that the house has been completely destroyed by the fire.
Tasmania Police have commenced an investigation and a forensics examination has been conducted at the scene.
There was a previous fire at the address on 14 January 2017 at which time there was extensive damage to the rear of the property. As a result, the property was empty at the time of the fire this morning and loss of contents belonging to the previous occupant was minimal.
No one was injured in this fire.
