Police investigate deliberately lit house fire in Rokeby
Bellerive CIB is investigating a deliberately lit house fire in Joseph St, Rokeby, overnight.
Shortly before 3:50am on Monday 11 December 2017, a Mission Australia Housing unit in Joseph Street, Rokeby was damaged by fire.
A neighbour discovered the fire and used a garden hose to extinguish it while waiting for the arrival of emergency services. Consequently the damage caused by the fire was confined to a small area of the premises. The unit was not occupied at the time.
The scene was attended by the Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police Service and investigations commenced. The fire was determined to have been deliberately lit.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything, or who has any information that might assist the investigation.
