Police are investigating a house fire on Cupania Street, Rocherlea this morning which caused around $80,000 worth of damage to the property.

Around 5:30am, multiple crews from Tasmania Fire Service attended the scene and quickly extinguished the fire, however the house suffered serious damage estimated at $80,000. The house was unoccupied at the time. No other houses were damaged.

A fire scene examination conducted by the Tasmania Fire Service has determined the fire was deliberately lit.
