At 2220 hours on Monday, 19th December 2011, police were advised of a single vehicle accident on High Street, Campbell Town.  It was ascertained a stolen vehicle had left the road and collided with the library building.

Police apprehended three (3) occupants.  At this time two (2) males are assisting police with enquiries, and a female is undergoing surgery at the Launceston General Hospital.  Injuries are not considered life threatening.

The road was closed for a short period of time as live power lines came down across the road.

Uniform Police, Forensic and Accident Investigation police attended the accident scene.  Excessive speed is considered a factor contributing to this accident.
