Police investigate assault

Kingston CIB is appealing for information from members of the public about an assault on a 15 year old girl in the Peter Murrell Reserve off Algona Road near Blackmans Bay on the afternoon of Thursday 20 January 2011.

Approximately 4:30pm the girl was walking along a track in the reserve when she was approached from behind by a man wearing a balaclava and assaulted.  After a short struggle the male attacker fled through bush towards Algona Road.

The male was wearing navy blue work overalls, an olive green jumper, and the balaclava.  He appeared to be in his late twenties to early thirties, of medium build and height, had olive/tanned complexion with some facial hair.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any person fitting this description in the vicinity of the Peter Murrell Reserve on Thursday afternoon, or who have any information whatsoever that may assist the investigation.
