Police evade Eastern Shore
Three people are in custody and assisting Police following a police evade incident on the Eastern Shore in Hobart this morning.
Around 9:15am Police responded to a red Daewoo sedan driving erratically on Scott Road, Bridgewater. Police attempted to intercept the car but the two male occupants failed to stop.
A short time later the men were seen entering a blue Peugeot hatchback being driven by a female near the Derwent Tavern at Bridgewater. Police were unable to intercept this car.
The Peugeot was located in Otago Bay a short time later. The driver attempted to leave the area and drove into a marked police car causing minor damage. No-one was injured.
Police successfully deployed road spikes and the Peugeot come to a stop on the East Derwent Highway, near the Bowen Bridge.
A 28-year-old man from Bridgewater, a 34-year-old man from Bridgewater and a 30-year-old female from New Town were taken into custody without incident. Investigations are continuing and it’s expected that a number of traffic related charges will be laid.
