Police confirm Sandy Bay man’s death is not suspicious
Police have confirmed that the death of a 78 year old Sandy Bay man yesterday is not suspicious.
The man was found deceased on a walking track in the Nutgrove area shortly before 11.30am yesterday.
Detective Inspector Ian Whish-Wilson of Hobart CIB said:
“Hobart CIB has investigated a report of an altercation between the man and another person – we can now confirm the report of an altercation and the man’s death are not connected,” Mr Whish-Wilson said.
“The man died of natural causes and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
“Police would like to thank those members of the community who provided information to police as part of the investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.”
