Police charge robbery offenders – Launceston CBD
Launceston Detectives have charged two people with attempted armed robbery after a member of the public was attacked in the Launceston CBD at about 3.50pm last Wednesday.
A 14-year-old male youth and a 18 man, both from the Launceston suburb of Ravenswood were charged over the weekend. The youth has been given bail and will appear in court at a later date. The 18 year-old man has detained by police and will appear in the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions on Sunday 2 August 2020.
The two offenders and the victim were not know to each other.
Detective Sergeant Roberts said ‘the victim of this unprovoked and violent attack is recovering well from his physical injuries. He is understandably shaken up, but is expected over time, to make a full recovery’.
