Police arrest man after an evade incident
Launceston Police have charged a 23 year old George Town man after an aggravated evade incident in Launceston yesterday morning.
Police attempted to intercept a vehicle around 9:30am Wednesday morning. The vehicle was spiked on the East Tamar Highway in Dilston and continued driving for several kilometres with two deflated tyres.
The driver was successfully intercepted in Forster Street, Newnham around 10:00am after spikes deflated the remaining two tyres.
The man is in custody assisting police and has been charged with Reckless Driving, Driving while Disqualified, Aggravated Evade, Burglary and Firearms Offences.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 4.15pm today.
