Police appeal for information about Saladin Circle body

Police are continuing their investigation and appealing for public information following the discovery of a body in a burnt-out unit in Clarendon Vale yesterday.

Police believe there are people in Clarendon Vale who have information about the circumstances of the person’s death and are appealing for them to come forward.

Investigators today remain on scene at two crime scenes in Saladin Circle in Clarendon Vale: the residence that was subject to an arson attack on Tuesday and a neighbouring residence.

Detective Inspector Steve Burk said:

“The body was well concealed and was located by police after specific information was received as part of the arson investigation.

“We know that there are people in the Clarendon Vale area who have key information about the circumstances leading up to the person’s death and we are appealing for them to come forward.

“A person has tragically lost their life and anyone who has information that could help the investigation is asked to make contact with police.

“The deceased person has not yet been identified and it is likely to be some time before the identification process is complete.

“Forensic officers and investigators were on scene most of the night and are continuing their investigations today,” he said.

Two Clarendon Vale men aged 38 and 57 were arrested yesterday and remain in custody. A Mornington woman (aged 33) was charged with arson on Wednesday and remains in custody.
