Today, 15^th January 2013 Western District Detectives have charged three 14 year old male youths in relation to the death of two Little Penguins (Eudyptula minor) at the Ocean Vista Beach on the evening of Monday 14^th January 2013.

The youths are facing charges of Doing an Act Which Resulted in the Death of an Animal, and further charges under the Protected Wildlife Regulations.

Two of the youths have today appeared in the Youth Justice Division of the Burnie Court of Petty Sessions on these charges and unrelated matters.

The third youth has been bailed to appear at a later date.
