Penguin – Serious Single Vehicle Crash
At approximately 9:35am on Saturday 16 August 2014 police from Ulverstone and Penguin along with Ambulance Tasmania and Tasmania Fire Service crews attended the scene of a serious single vehicle crash on Penguin Road, Penguin approximately two kilometres east of Penguin town centre.
A late model blue Ford Falcon sedan had left the road on a slight right hand bend and collided with a row of pine trees. The vehicle was significantly damaged by the impact. The single male occupant of the vehicle was attended to by ambulance officers at the scene before being transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The road was closed for several hours to allow emergency services to deal with the scene and remove the vehicle. Police are now investigating the cause of the crash.
