Pedestrian struck by vehicle – Main Road, Glenorchy
An 83 year old male from Goodwood is in the Royal Hobart Hospital after being struck by a vehicle when crossing Main Road, Glenorchy on Sunday the 3rd of July 2022.
The crash occurred at approximately 5.40pm when the male pedestrian was struck by a silver Nissan station wagon, travelling in a northerly direction.
Emergency services attended the scene. The driver and passengers of the vehicle were uninjured. The pedestrian was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with head injuries.
Crash Investigation and Forensic Services personnel attended the scene and conducted an investigation. Investigations into factors relating to the cause of the crash are continuing. The use of alcohol or drugs are not suspected.
A short section of Main Road Glenorchy at the location of the crash was closed for three hours whilst investigations were carried out. Appropriate traffic diversions were implemented. Police would like to thank motorists for their patience during this time.
