Pedestrian seriously injured in Derwent Park crash
A 38-year-old Glenorchy man sustained serious injuries from being struck by a vehicle on Brooker Highway, Derwent Park, around 3.10pm yesterday.
Initial enquiries indicate that the man had attempted to cross the Brooker Highway – south of the traffic lights at the intersection with Derwent Park Road – in heavy traffic conditions.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for mandatory blood testing.
