Pedestrian hit by train dies

A 23 year old female pedestrian from Moonah died in the Intensive Care Unit of the Royal Hobart Hospital on the morning of 2 March 2011 after having been struck by a south bound train on the level crossing at Albert Road Moonah about 11.50pm on the 28 February 2011.

The pedestrian was trapped under the lead locomotive and it took approximately eighty minutes for the pedestrian to be freed prior to being conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital by road ambulance.
