A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle about 9.00pm  last night.

Police were informed of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Woolmer’s Lane about 2km from Longford.

The driver of a Kia sedan was traveling in an easterly direction when it struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The area of the crash is a rural road with no lighting and no centre line and the deceased was wearing all dark clothing at the time.

Anyone who may have seen a person walking on Woolmer’s Lane around 9.00pm or may have been driving on Woolmer’s Lane should contact police.

Police are investigating the matter and a report is being prepared for the Coroner.
