Pedestrian Dies From Injuries
At approximately 1750hrs on Friday the 24th of October 2014, a pedestrian crossing at the junction of Best Street and Rooke Street at Devonport was hit by a silver Holden Rodeo flat tray utility. The Holden was turning right from Rooke Street into Best Street.
The pedestrian, a 64 year old female from Shearwater, has since died from injuries received in the crash.
Western District Crash Investigation will be preparing a report for the Coroner in relation to the crash. Witnesses who observed the crash are urged to contact 1/C Constable Adam LLOYD at Western District Crash Investigation on 131 444.
POLICE WILL NOT BE RELEASING THE NAME OF THE DECEASED UNTIL PERMISSION IS GIVEN BY NEXT OF KIN.
Both pedestrians involved in the separate crashes at Queen Street, Ulverstone and at the intersection of Best and Fenton Street, Devonport yesterday, have returned home with minor injuries.
