As a result of the collision the pedestrian suffered numerous leg and pelvis fractures. She was trapped under the rear of the vehicle for a short time until being freed by rescue personnel. She was transported to the NWRH at Burnie where her condition is listed as serious.

The driver of the vehicle, a 58 year old female from Wynyard was uninjured.
