A report is being prepared for the Coroner in relation to the death of a 17 year old youth in southern Tasmania on Sunday 25 November 2012.
Baby Death
On the evening of 2nd November 2012 a baby was presented to the North West Regional Hospital with unexplained injuries.
Attempted Armed Robbery – Tullah
At about 7:30pm on Saturday evening (24/11/12) a woman, in the company of a child, attempted to hold up the Tullah General Store & Service Station.

Armed robbery arrest
Detectives from Glenorchy CIB arrested a 26 year old male from West Moonah this afternoon. He was charged with Armed Robbery and bailed to appear at a later date.
Charity Trust Donation – Royal Hobart Hospital Paediatric Outpatient Clinic
It is hoped the acquisition of a new machine (purchased with a $5,000 donation from the Tasmania Police Charity Trust) at the Royal Hobart Hospital Pediatric Outpatient Clinic will help take some of the sting out of needles for young patients.
New Speed Cameras and Trailers
The road safety focus of Tasmania Police has been enhanced with the purchase of new state-of-the-art speed cameras and speed camera trailers. Excessive speed was the number one crash factor for fatal and serious injury crashes in 2011.
Positive Ticketing Program Builds Relationships
A program designed to reinforce good behaviour by young people is expanding across the North West coast. The Program will soon be rolled out across Burnie, Devonport, Wynyard and Ulverstone with a focus on areas of disadvantage.
