P Plater caught driving 55kmh over speed limit
A 17 year old P1 Driver has been disqualified for four months, had her vehicle clamped, lost six demerit points and fined over $900 after being detected driving at 55kmh over the speed limit yesterday.
Police stopped a 17 year old female from Austins Ferry who was travelling at a speed of 145 kph on the East Derwent Highway through Geilston Bay and into the Risdon area about 9.30pm last night.
This speed was 55 kph in excess of her 90 kph P1 licence condition.
Two 19 year old passengers were present in the vehicle and were reminded of the danger they had been put in and also their responsibility to discourage such driving behaviour.
The driver was issued an infringement notice disqualifying her for a period of 4 months, 6 demerit points and a fine of $914.25. Her vehicle was clamped and she will face a P1 restart on her licence.
