Operation Vouch
An 8 month investigation has today culminated in a number of arrests and seizures in relation to a drug trafficking operation.
Operation Vouch has involved 180 officers deployed statewide today, including the Tasmania Police Special Operations Group and members of both the Australian Federal Police and Australian Customs & Border Protection Service.
Early this morning police simultaneously searched 8 properties in Southern Tasmania and 4 properties in Devonport. Searches continued throughout the day and into the early evening, with a quantity of methamphetamine, cannabis and 3 small calibre unregistered firearms seized.
Arrests include:
1 for trafficking in Cannabis – charged and detained for court in Hobart this evening;
1 for trafficking in cannabis and bailed;
1 for trafficking in methamphetamine – charged and detained for court in Devonport this evening.
3 people arrested in relation to outstanding warrants.
An additional three people are in custody in relation to drug trafficking and continue to assist police in their enquiries.
