Operation Crossroads Statistics 27/12/2012
The Christmas Holiday Road Toll reporting period runs from 00:01 hours on Sunday 23rd December until 23:59 hours on Thursday 3 January 2013.
Tasmania Police seized three motor vehicles yesterday at a result of Operation Crossroads. These vehicles will be inoperable for a minimum of 28 days and may in some cases be clamped or seized for up to three months – or indeed, seized indefinitely. Police urge motorists to remain vigilant on our roads as many people return to work today, but many more remain with family and friends on holidays.
We all know how to stay safe on our roads. Everyone has the right to travel safely on our roads, whether by car, motorcycle or on foot. Remember the fatal five:
- Speed;
- Seatbelts;
- Alcohol and Illicit Drugs;
- Distraction; and
- Fatigue.
Don’t make the wrong choices.
