OMCG Arrests

Tasmania Police detectives have arrested two members of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang in relation to drug trafficking offences.

Yesterday a 26 year old Warrane man was arrested, and today a 24 year old Blackmans Bay man was arrested.  Both men have been charged with trafficking a quantity of amphetamine and cannabis.

Both men are members of the Eastern Shore chapter of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.

The arrests are the result of a joint operation with Australian Federal Police, and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service.

It will be alleged the amphetamine, with a value of $234,000 was imported into Australia and amphetamine and cannabis were distributed within Tasmania.

The men have been bailed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
