At about 11.10am on Thursday 23 September 2010 a woman withdraw a small amount of cash from the Commonwealth Bank ATM in Elizabeth Street, North Hobart. As she was placing the money into her purse she was pushed from behind and a man grabbed her purse and ran off with it.

A member of the public pursued the man down Strahan Street and the man dumped the purse minus the money in the street.

A short time later police located a man at a hotel in Letitia Street, North Hobart. The man was taken into custody in relation to the matter.

Last night police charged a 34 year old Warrane man with Robbery and he was bailed to appear in the Hobart Court of Petty Sessions on Monday 25 October 2010.
