Approximately 4:00am on 28^th February 2016, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service attended a fire in Stanley Court, Sorell.  The fire was quickly extinguished, however destroyed part of the rear deck and the fence of the property and the fence of a neighbouring property.

Tasmania Police have investigated the matter and it has been deemed not suspicious.  No one was injured during the incident, however a small child, who was asleep in neighbouring property was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital as a precaution for possible smoke inhalation.  They were released a short time later and had no injuries or lasting effects.
