Newspaper claims wrong

Tasmania Police today rejected claims in The Examiner relating to the sinking of the PV Karie.

“It’s ridiculous to suggest a cover-up in relation to the PV Karie when the investigation is not yet complete and a final report not yet complete,” said Acting Deputy Commissioner Phil Wilkinson.

“As we have stated previously, the investigation will look at all aspects of the operation of the vessel.

“Anyone with relevant information should make contact with us.”

A report on the investigation is due to be completed by the end of this month.
