Newnham Station

 No decision has been made to close the Newnham Police Station.

It’s important to be open to new ideas and Tasmania Police regularly reviews the way we deliver policing services to the community to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources.

We encourage senior members within the police districts to put forward ideas about improving service delivery in their specific areas.  Not all of those ideas and initiatives are approved.

A key recommendation of any proposal that impacts on a local community is to consult with members of that community and internal and external stakeholders.  This situation is not any different.
