CHARGES LAID AS A RESULT OF INCIDENT AT NEWNHAM

About 3am Wednesday 11 February 2015 police arrested a 35 year old Rocherlea man in relation to the incident in Cedar Street Newnham.

The man was taken into custody by members of the Special Operations Group after protracted negotiations by police since Monday 9 February 2015.

It will be alleged that after the arrest police located a loaded .22 calibre revolver in the residence.

The man was interviewed and charged by Launceston CIB with a number of counts of breaching a family violence order, unlawful possession, resisting police, drug and firearms offences.

The man will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 11.30am on Thursday 12 February 2015.
