Newest cohort of constables sworn in at Police Academy
The latest cohort of 26 constables will graduate and join the ranks of Tasmania Police today.
“Ready to serve and protect the Tasmanian community from next week are 13 women and 13 men who will be officially sworn in as Constables at the Police Academy this morning,” said Acting Commander of Education and Training, Natasha Freeman.
“Today’s graduation ceremony marks the conclusion of a rigorous recruit course for our newest constables, and I congratulate each of them, including Constable Deanna Wadley who was awarded Dux of the Course, and Constable Mark Roberts who was awarded Runner-Up Dux.”
From Monday, 14 new constables will be stationed at Hobart, 1 at Glenorchy, 4 at Launceston, 3 at Burnie, and 4 at Devonport.
“Today I stand with our newest constables as they graduate from the Tasmania Police Academy, for what is a milestone moment in the career of every police officer,” said Commissioner of Police, Darren Hine.
“On behalf of Tasmania Police, I officially welcome the new officers to our service and wish each of them well for what I hope will be a long and fulfilling career, serving and protecting our community.”
