New Tasmania Police website

Tasmania Police has launched a new community and media friendly website.

“This new site seeks to build on our commitment to engage with the community and on our continuous improvement approach,” said the Acting Commissioner of Tasmania Police, Darren Hine.

“In addition, it will provide a contemporary platform for Tasmania Police to release information directly to the wider community in accordance with our obligations under the new Right to Information legislation.”

Media and the community will now find media releases available on the internet, as well as easier to access information on community alerts and road closures.

The site also contains a freshly redeveloped recruitment section.

Mr Hine said Tasmania Police will continue to develop the site and examine opportunities to provide additional interactive features.

The new site, launched on 1 July 2010, has been redeveloped using a local designer and a local web development company.

The new site can be viewed at www.police.tas.gov.au.
