At about 5:20pm on Saturday 20 august 2022, police and fire services were called to a business on Circle Street, New Norfolk.

On arrival, one business was ablaze and adjacent businesses have sustained significant damage. Multiple units from Tasmania Fire Service attended and extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this stage and a fire investigator will attend the scene on Sunday to make an assessment.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the fire and wish to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the fire or have witnessed anyone acting suspicious at the time of the fire.
