New Assistant Commissioner Appointment

A senior Tasmania Police officer with 38 years’ experience has been appointed to the rank of Assistant Commissioner.

Glenn Frame joined Tasmania Police as a cadet in 1978 and has most recently served as Commander of the Southern District for the past two years.

“I congratulate Assistant Commissioner Frame on his appointment. His outstanding management and communication skills ensure he will provide strategic leadership in this senior role,” said the Commissioner of Police, Darren Hine.

“As Assistant Commissioner, Mr Frame will take on the portfolio of Crime and Operations, providing strategic and tactical command of emergencies, major incidents and operations, and providing direction to deliver the highest quality policing and emergency management services for the Tasmanian community,” said Mr Hine.

Assistant Commissioner Frame has almost four decades of distinguished police service and has performed duties in a range of responsibilities including criminal investigations, internal investigations and recruit training. After his promotion to the rank of Commander, he served in Professional Standards, Operations Support and two years in the Northern District.

Assistant Commissioner Frame has also achieved academic qualifications including a number of programs under the Australian Institute of Police Management. He has achieved the National Police Medal, Commissioner’s Medal for Ethical and Diligent Service and Australian Police Medal.

The appointment is effective from today, 23 May 2016.
