With permission of the family involved, police can release the names of the two people who sadly died in a two vehicle crash on the Bass Highway at Latrobe on Tuesday night. 

Eileen Murfet, aged 68, from the Devonport area.

Lachlan Stones, aged 15, from the Latrobe area.

Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones at this difficult time.

The family has asked police to share their request for privacy, and for media not to contact them.

Police crash investigations are continuing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
