Murray Street assault

Hobart CIB Detectives are investigating an assault which occurred in Murray Street, near Liverpool Street, Hobart about 5am on Sunday 24 October 2010.

The two male victims reported that they were approached by two men who asked them for money. One of the victims, who stated that he didn’t have any money, was head butted and punched by one of the men. This victim received a fractured jaw as a result of the attack.

The first man was described as;
• Just under 6’ tall
• Short darkish brown spiky hair
• Athletic build
• Clean shaven
• Aged 20-21 years old
• Wearing a red short sleeve T-Shirt, with cursive writing on it, and light blue denim jeans

 
The second male was described as;
• 6’2” tall
• heavy build to overweight
• thick black short hair
• clean shaven
• Wearing a black long sleeve top and dark cream or grey track pants

Two composite face images have been completed.

Detectives would like to hear from members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have information leading to the identity of the two men. Anyone with information is requested to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
