A 39 year old male has appeared in an out of hours sitting of the Devonport Magistrates Court charged with matters arising from the investigation of a murder and attempted Murder committed at Harold Street Devonport.

Mark Anthony Mason 39 years of Devonport appeared before the out of hours court and was remanded to appear via video link on Monday 2 December 2013 at 9.45 a.m.  Mason was charged with one count of Murder, one count of attempted Murder and one count of breaching a Restraint Order.

Detective Inspector Rob Gunton said “The 61 year old woman remains in a critical but stable condition at the Royal Hobart Hospital, having been air lifted there last night.
