Multiple Vehicle Crash – Brooker Highway
On Friday 27/3/15 just before 7:30am Tasmania Police and other emergency services were called to attend a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in the southbound lanes on the Brooker Highway at Berriedale.
Up to 9 vehicles were involved in the incident. As a result a 60 year old Claremont man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Damage to vehicles ranged from minor to major with 3 vehicles towed from the scene.
A number of factors contributed to this crash including wet weather, slippery road conditions and following other vehicles too closely.
This is the second multi-vehicle crash on the Brooker Highway in the past two days that has caused major traffic delays for motorists.
Tasmania Police would like to remind motorists to take extra care with the wet road conditions. Tasmania Police remind motorists to drive to the conditions, be aware the roads will be slippery and leave appropriate space between you and the vehicle ahead.
This extra space may allow you to avoid a collision.
