Two bushwalkers were rescued from Mt Lot by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter this morning after they activated their EPIRB.

The helicopter crew spotted the walkers on a steep and exposed section of Mt Lot which is on the Mt Anne Circuit in the State’s south.

The man and woman activated their EPIRB just after 8am after finding that the steep and difficult terrain on the mountain was such that they would not be able to safely complete the walk.

The pair, aged in their 20s, did not require any medical treatment and were winched safely to the helicopter.
