Mountain Bike Crash – St Helens Mountain Bike Park
On the afternoon of Sunday 29th November 2020, police and emergency services, assisted by the Westpac rescue helicopter, attended the ‘Mack 10’ mountain bike trail at the St Helen Mountain Bike Park where a 13 year old child from Port Macquarie, NSW, had crashed whilst negotiating a jump.
The child whilst found to have non life threatening injuries but due to his injuries, he was required to be winched from the trail to the Westpac rescue helicopter.
Following the rescue, the child and his father, were transported by the Westpac Rescue helicopter to the Launceston General Hospital for treatment.
