Motorists urged to slow down for earlier school traffic tomorrow

Tasmanian motorists have been reminded to slow down for earlier school traffic around the State tomorrow afternoon.

Some State schools are closing from 1.30pm tomorrow – so motorists are advised to slow down, take care and be aware of children and pedestrians around this time.

“There won’t be school crossing guards or flashing 40kmh signs in place at the earlier pick up time, so motorists need to remember to be alert, vigilant and patient when travelling in and around school and bus zones and obey the road rules,” Assistant Commissioner Glenn Frame said.

“Safety is our number one priority and as such Tasmania Police will be monitoring motorists’ behaviour across our school zones during this time.”
