Motorcyclist injured in crash – Colebrook Road, Colebrook
Approximately 1:15pm Saturday 27th November 2021 emergency services were advised of a serious crash on Colebrook Road, Colebrook, involving a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a dark grey Mitsubishi Triton utility.
Whilst investigations are continuing, it appears the motorcycle had been travelling north toward Colebrook when it crossed onto the incorrect side of the road while negotiating a left-hand bend, colliding with the front driver side of the utility, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 27-year old Bellerive man, suffered significant leg injuries and was conveyed from the scene by ambulance to the Royal Hobart Hospital. His injuries are not considered life-threatening. The driver of the utility, a 29-year old Brighton woman, was not injured.
The road was closed and traffic diverted from the area while the scene was examined and then made safe. The road was re-opened to all traffic shortly before 4:00pm.
